This one image of 1 New York Plaza might hands down, be my favorite fine art image. The symmetry of the windows of the building really appeal to me.
This image was capture in the fall of 2020. I was on a shoot at 30 Broad Street, which is about 1/4-1/2 a mile away from 1 NY Plaza. I was on one of the high rise floors when I look out and saw this building, overlooking the water of the East River. I was captivated by the layout of the building and from the angle I was, it was the perfect opportunity to capture the symmetry as well as the depth of the building. Being that I was so far away, I brought out my telephoto lens and attached an additional 2x adapter so I could really get close and make it feel like we were right on top of it.
Although 50 years old (this building opened in 1970) I was looking to capture it an an angle where it doesn’t look dated and hopefully stand the test of time! I hope you like the image.
